The simplified internal design of the BFV-300 gearbox reduces gearbox size and overall weight of the valve compared to traditional worm-operated and segmented gearboxes. The Tyco next generation butterfly valve is 50% smaller gearbox on average than conventional gearboxes and a 40% lighter valve on average than those with traditional gearboxes.
For applications requiring supervision of the open position of the valve, the Gear Operators for the Model BFV-300 Wafer Style Butterfly Valves are provided with two sets of factory installed internal switches each having SPDT contacts. The supervisory switches transfer their electrical contacts when there is movement from the Valve’s normal open position during the first two revolutions of the handwheel.
